The objective of ERP is to deliver the best price for the best WEEE take back service. In this regards, producers should pay always for the take back service they have received from ERP and its General Contractors. Therefore ERP pricing target structure is simple and efficient: for each ton of WEEE collected and treated producers pay the price in €/t collected & treated.
Unfortunately several government and some market conditions do not allow ERP to establish such a pricing structure. The example of Germany however, shows that this delivers the best results and the most competitive situation.
ERP will continue to work with the governments to ensure that the preferred price structure can be established as we believe that this is the best way for companies, consumers and finally for the economy in Europe.
There is a great variety of price models depending on local request from authorities or responding to competition or to customer demand
In Ireland, a visible fee is fixed by authorities on all categories except IT and unrelated to costs.
