New Portal Simplifies Business Compensation for Packaging Waste

When the producer responsibility for packaging takes effect on October 1, 2025, companies that end up with packaging waste themselves will be able to apply for financial compensation for its handling.

To simplify the application process, ERP Denmark, in collaboration with Emballageretur, has established the digital portal affaldsanmodning.dk. The portal gathers all applications in one place and invites other collective schemes to join, giving the business community a unified point of access.

Developed together with the software company Axla, the portal will be ready to receive applications for collections starting October 1, 2025. Applications are submitted digitally using MitID, and companies must document their costs with, for example, invoices from their waste collectors.

As Torben Frahm, Managing Director of ERP Denmark, emphasizes, applications for business compensation must be easy to manage, and the portal ensures both correct validation and minimal administrative burden.

Unlike households—where municipalities automatically settle producer responsibility—businesses must actively apply for compensation. With affaldsanmodning.dk, ERP Denmark and Emballageretur offer companies a simple, unified solution that makes it easy to comply with legal requirements and ensure correct payment.
