Honourable mention for “Kilowatios de Solidaridad” campaign

The KILOWATIOS DE SOLIDARIDAD (Kilowatts of Solidarity), WEEE awareness campaign run by the Albacete Association of Environmental Managers (AGESAM), in collaboration with the European Recycling Platform (ERP) and the Amiab Group, was recognised with an honourable mention at the Castilla-León Regional Environment Prizes 2019, held in Manzanares (Ciudad Real) in June.

The goal of the campaign was to collect unused or broken electrical and electronic toys in order to give them a second life through repairing them and donating them to children at risk of social exclusion or recycling their components so that they do not pose a threat to the environment. Those electrical and electronic toys that could not be repaired were recycled correctly with the supervision of ERP España, in accordance with the regulations in force for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in Spain.
