New edition of Pilabot launched

• Once again this year, the Regional Government of Galicia, ERC, Ecopilas and Ecolec are promoting the recycling of batteries in Galician schools 25/11/19

The Regional Government of Galicia, together with ECOPILAS, ERP and ECOLEC, have launched a new edition of the Pilabot campaign, focussing on the selective collection of batteries and laptop accumulators in primary and secondary schools in Galicia.

This second edition of the campaign saw prizes worth 7,500 euros distributed among the schools, in four prizes redeemable for school, sporting equipment and/or educational activities. In the first edition of the Pilabot Contest, held in the 2018-2019 school year, almost 44 tonnes of batteries, laptop accumulators and used batteries were collected. These were impressive figures, representing close to 20% of the 230.5 tonnes collected in 2018 across all of Galicia.
