AMIAB and ERP Spain collect almost a tonne of WEE in the 4th edition of the Match for Recycling
This event brought an end to the “Tus residuos son RAEEcursos” (Your Waste is a Resource) campaign in which over 450 students from the Madrid suburb of Getafe participated.
European Recycling Platform (ERP) España, the only pan-European Extended Producer Responsibility System (SCRAP), and AMIAB, an NGO dedicated to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities, collected almost a tonne of waste electrical and electronic equipment (RAEE) in the Madrid suburb of Getafe over the course of the campaign, which ended with the 4th Match for Recycling, an wheelchair basketball exhibition match to raise awareness.
The meeting between AMIAB BSR and CID Casa Murcia de Getafe aimed to raise social awareness in two areas: equality of opportunity for persons with disabilities, through adapted sports, and the importance for the environment and society of the correct recycling of waste electronics. During the campaign, the Francisco de Quevedo infants’ and primary school took the schools’ prize by collecting 184 kilos of WEE, or 1.77 kg of waste per pupil.
