Collection points will be managed in 250 municipalities across the province
European Recycling Platform Spain (ERP) and Zamora Provincial Council have renewed their agreement that guarantees the proper removal and management of waste portable batteries collected by ERP in the province.
The new agreement will run for four years and provides for the setting up of a monitoring committee which will affect 250 towns and districts in the province of Zamora. The collection initiative covers town councils and schools, among others.
In the words of Zamora Provincial Council leader, Francisco José Requejo Rodríguez: "depending on how successful it is, we will be expanding it to more towns and councils. There is no financial cost to the Council. It will be financed from the fees and will be collected within 15 days".
Laura Alonso, general manager of ERP Spain, thanked Zamora Provincial Council for its commitment and support, remarking that "under this new agreement, we continue our commitment to bringing sorted collection receptables closer to the citizens, thereby promoting the recycling of this waste".
