European Recycling Platform (ERP), in partnership with the CEOE Foundation and other SCRAPs, is taking part in the campaign 'Sustainable Digitalisation' campaign - a charitable initiative that aims to reduce the digital divide and help promote universal access to technology, through selective collection of electronic devices in workplaces.
The main aim of the campaign is to give new life to waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) - specifically, computers and tablets provided by companies - as well as pass on donated equipment to help people facing issues in accessing technology, thus also reducing the generation of waste to protect the environment.
This involves reconditioning the collected computers and tablets and sending them to schools and training centres, minors and people at risk of exclusion, homes for the elderly, and other individuals and groups who need them.
