The “Recycle Your Appliances” campaign resumed its journey through the Region of Valencia

The “Recycle Your Appliances” campaign resumed its journey this week, seeking to impress upon Valencia residents the importance of recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and how to make it possible. This initiative was launched by the Regional Government of Valencia, in conjunction with local PROs which, in addition to European Recycling Platform, include Recyclia (Ecofimática, Ecoasimelec and Ecolum), Ecolec, Ecotic, Ambilamp and Ecoraees.

During this week, “Recycle Your Appliances” reporters will visit the towns of Manises, Valencia, Albuixech, Almussafes and Moncada. The campaign will be extended over the next two months to fifteen more towns. Already in January and February this year more than twenty towns located in Valencia, Castellón and Alicante benefited from this campaign, which is being resumed in October.

As was the case in its last edition, all activities will follow COVID-19 health measures. Consequently, standard bicycles with trailers will be replaced by a mobile recycling station, where local residents may deposit their small electrical and electronic appliances, which have broken down or are no longer in use, in favour of the planet’s sustainability. The area will be roped off and signposted for any citizens intending to make a WEEE deposit to do so with the utmost guaranteed safety.
