Consorzio ERP Italia published the Annual Report 2018

In 2018, Consorzio ERP Italia collected and processed more than 23,000 tons of WEEE and 2,700 tons of portable RPAs, the latter segment confirms its leadership in Italy.

Milan, February 28th 2019 - Consorzio ERP Italia, one of the main non-profit collective systems that take charge of the entire national territory of management in accordance with WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and RPA (Waste of Batteries and Accumulators ), presents the data contained in its 2018 Environmental Report.

In 2018 Consorzio ERP Italia collected and processed 23,182 tons of WEEE, leading to recycling, in its decade of activity in Italy (2008 - 2018), 292.237 tons. During the past year, the international group of which the Consorzio ERP Italia is part, gathered in the 12 countries where there are over 270,414 tons of WEEE, reaching a total of 3,394,867 tons since its foundation in 2002 to date.

Regarding portable batteries and accumulators, the Consorzio ERP Italia consolidates its leadership in Italy by collecting 2,711 tons of RPA in 2018, registering an increase of + 34% compared to the previous year. This year at European level the group has collected 7,866 tons of RPA, bringing the total harvest since its foundation well over 63.438 tons.

Each grouping has minimum regulatory targets for material recovery. For all the 5 groups, the objectives achieved by the ERP Italia Consortium are always higher than those assigned by the legislation, with an average disposal percentage of just 5.17%, while all the rest is recovered thanks to its extremely efficient internal quality standards.
