Landbell Group to develop packaging waste EPR scheme in Algeria

The German international development cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, GIZ) has contracted Landbell Group and its partner, Black Forest Solutions, to advise on developing the operational set up for the packaging waste extended producer responsibility (EPR) scheme in Algeria.

Landbell Group and Black Forest Solutions will provide expert advice on an EPR scheme for packaging waste, drawing on the best practices of European Union Member States, whilst adapting these to local conditions in Algeria. The aim is to make an EPR scheme for packaging waste operational under an upcoming executive decree, which will amend the current regulations with respect to the EPR model and institutional and operational producer responsibility organisation (PRO) set up.

Landbell Group will contribute its long-term experience operating EPR schemes for packaging, as well as WEEE and batteries, in many countries across Europe and beyond.
