REEEgresso is the new social media item of ERP Portugal for all those who has returned to their offices in September and to those who has started a new academic year. This initiative has the main objective of alerting the population to the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling all Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Waste Batteries and Accumulators (WBA).
It is essential that sustainability is an integral concept of companies and educational establishments and that the use of resources happens without being compromised for future generations. ERP Portugal thus launches simple suggestions to apply, so that everyone can make more sustainable and environmentally responsible decisions and behaviors.
Rosa Monforte, ERP Portugal General Manager, reinforces that “this is another initiative of ERP Portugal and its extensive experience with regard to waste management, importing the best practices and methodologies for its treatment and recycling, in which the behavior of the population is fundamental. Such simple behaviors in our daily lives can make all the difference in the amount of waste that we later have to eliminate. Through our social networks, we will share several tips on behaviors that are easy to adopt, such as choosing a more environmentally friendly light bulb or rethinking the electronic school supplies that are needed for this new academic year ”.
In addition to this, there are other small gestures that can make a difference:
. Before buying a new computer or calculator, make sure that the ones you already have have no arrangement. If this option is not feasible, do not forget to place the damaged devices in a Depositrão nearby you;
. Opt for the use of extensions that contain an on and off button;
. In the office, if the work lasts for late hours, choose to use a lamp instead of using general lighting;
. If you do a home inspection and have bulbs to be replaced, don’t forget to put the old ones in the Depositrão and choose energy saving and / or LED bulbs;
. Use air conditioning sparingly, whenever possible use natural ventilation / window.
