ERP Ireland Celebrates World Earth Day
A circular economy provides us with the opportunity to consume fewer resources..
To mark World Earth Day, ERP Ireland would like to thank all of our valued stakeholders and the general public. Consumers are increasingly more environmentally aware, and peoples’ recycling activities are changing for the better.
During 2021, we have seen a further increase of electronic waste recycling with over 6 million electronic items collected by ERP up from 5.6 million in 2020. Overall, we identified a 2.55% increase in electronic waste recycling per person and a 9% increase in the recycling of COLD appliances including fridges and freezers, and a 10% increase in small domestic appliances (SDA).
A circular economy provides us with the opportunity to consume fewer resources and to extend the productive life of the objects we buy and use. We look forward to working with all stakeholders to develop initiatives and strategies that will help pave the way towards an innovative and sustainable circular economy in Ireland.
