Repak Resource Awards 2025

Huge congratulations to all winners and nominees at the Repak Resource Awards 2025. Special praise to Lidl Ireland, winner of the Overall Repak Resource Award 2025, recognised for leadership in recycling and the circular economy.

Lidl also won Best Deposit Return Initiative for its pioneering customer-first rollout of Ireland’s Deposit Return Scheme, committing an early investment of €50 million and deploying two reverse-vending machines per store. Innovations such as bulk return machines, efficient backhauling and integrated charity donations have raised the bar for sustainable retail. To date, over 300 million containers have been returned through Lidl’s scheme — a major milestone for Ireland’s circular economy.

Other winners on the night included Castletroy College, Limerick (Battery and WEEE Champion) and Boots Ireland (Business Recycling Champion).
