Discover our straightforward recycling solutions
For producers, compliance is becoming an ever-greater challenge as legislation becomes more stringent. ERP helps you to comply with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations for recycling waste electronics, batteries, and packaging.
Extended Producer Responsibility
What is Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)?
Extended producer responsibility (EPR) is an environmental policy that makes the producer responsible for a product throughout its life cycle. It does this by making producers finance the collection, recycling, and end-of-life disposal of WEEE, batteries, accumulators, packaging, and other EPR product categories. This is done to mitigate the environmental impacts of products along the chain (from production to recycling).
In many countries, every company that first places a product subject to EPR requirements onto the market is considered a producer.
A producer can do this in three ways by:
Manufacturing products
Importing products (including online)
Selling products if you are not based in the country (including online)

Do you sell packaged goods to Germany?
The German Packaging Act, which entered into force in January 2019, obliges all manufacturers and retailers placing packaging on the German market to apply for a license through a packaging scheme.
The Act, which applies to mail order companies, online sellers, marketplace sellers, and operators of small online shops, encompasses all packaging materials and has no minimum threshold – as soon as you place packaging on the German market, then you must join a scheme.
