Aberdeen e‑waste event during Recycle Week
Students, residents and businesses recycle their electronics at a free event in Aberdeen.
The free recycling event takes place on Friday 16th September and will be hosted by the University of Aberdeen in partnership with ERP.
The event forms part of Recycle Week, a celebration of recycling which takes place this year from 12th to 18th September. Now in its 13th year, the aim of Recycle Week is to encourage everyone to think about all those items that often get forgotten about when recycling at home or in the office.
This is the third e-waste recycling event to be held at the University of Aberdeen. The previous events, in June 2012 and June 2016, collected over 16 tonnes of e-waste and the organisers are hoping that even more items will be collected for recycling this year.
E-waste should be brought to the rear entrance of the University’s MacRobert building, accessed from St Machar Drive, near the roundabout with King Street. All types of business and household e-waste will be accepted, with no charge, and staff will be on hand to help with unloading. All electronics will be sorted and treated within the UK.
