Eight substances recommended for REACH Authorisation
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has recommended that the European Commission adds eight substances, including lead, to the REACH Authorisation List.
Lead is used in batteries, cables, vehicles, machinery, electronics, among other products, and may be of high interest to Landbell Group’s clients.
Once substances are added to the list, companies will need to apply for authorisation to continue using them. The authorisation process aims at enhancing the substitution of hazardous substances with technically and economically viable alternatives when such are available. Until this is achieved, the goal is to ensure proper control of risks for human health and the environment.
