Resourcing the Future 2016
On Tuesday 14th June 2016, ERP UK is sponsoring the first day of this year’s Resourcing the Future conference at the Royal College of Surgeons in Central London.
The first day of this prestigious event, which is attended by leading stakeholders in the waste and resource management industry, comprises a full day of discussions on the circular economy with a specific focus on producer responsibility.
Following a keynote address by Rory Stewart OBE MP, Minister for Resource & Environmental Management, a panel will discuss the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan and explore whether the Commission’s forward looking Action Plan offers the right balance of demand-side and supply-side measures to deliver real change. Dr Kieren Mayers, Head of Environment and Technology Compliance at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, will contribute to the debate.
The afternoon sessions then begin by examining the UK Perspective on the EU Circular Economy Package – looking at what key elements in the CE package mean for the UK in practical and cost terms – before the day’s final session discusses New Tools to Deliver Ambition – the Future Role of Producer and Extended Producer Responsibility. This debate will be chaired by Scott Butler, ERP’s Regional Director for UK and Ireland, and will include Mark Dempsey, UK & Ireland Sustainability Manager at Hewlett-Packard Inc.
ERP UK is proud to be contributing to this fascinating, timely and important day of discussion.
