Organised by the Comunitat Valenciana, in collaboration with ERP and Ecopilas.
The Regional Ministry of Agriculture, the Environment, Climate Change and Rural Development of Valencia, along with the Collective Extended Producer Responsibility Systems (SCRAP in Spanish) –the European Recycling Platform (ERP) and Ecopilas– has held, for the second consecutive year, the school campaign «Yo ayudo a Berto Zampapilas» to encourage students to collect used batteries and portable accumulators.
The campaign promotes the selective collection of this type of waste among primary school students of the Comunitat Valenciana by means of a battery collection competition. An environmental team will visit registered schools to explain the advantages of recycling to the students, and present a stage show with the story of Berto Zampapilas, the campaign mascot. Depending on the number of participating students, one or more containers for the selective collection of batteries and portable accumulators will be distributed during the school visit.
