'A Sea Of Possibilities' will encourage recycling of WEEE and batteries in the Murcia region

• Organised by ERP and Amiab, 150 kg of batteries have been collected in its first week

European Recycling Platform (ERP) and Amiab Group have launched the first edition of the 'A Sea of Possibilities' campaign, which aims to encourage the collection and proper management of small electrical and electronic devices and batteries, when they become waste at the end of their useful life.

Run in partnership with Murcia's main hotel and tourism business association, the campaign aims to establish a pilot project of 'Hotels Taking Care of Mar Menor', which interested establishments will be able to join.

In its first week, three member establishments (Hotel Bahía de Mazarrón, Hotel Cavanna and Camping Caravanning de La Manga) have over 20 containers for the collection of WEEE and batteries. The project is already a great success, especially in regard to batteries, with more than 150 kg collected in just seven days.
