European Week for Waste Reduction: The Importance of Recycling WEEE

  • ERP promotes the proper management of electronic waste in order to extract any recoverable materials

European Recycling Platform (ERP) emphasises the importance of making people aware of why they should manage their electronic waste correctly, as part of the European Week for Waste Reduction (21-29 November).

Properly managing our waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) means we can give it a second life or extract any recoverable materials so that they can go back into the production cycle. Applying these principles to the management of WEEE helps us reduce its impact - not only by extending the equipment's useful life and extracting any recoverable elements, but also because other potentially harmful compounds can be safely processed, with priority given to measures to protect the environment and people's health.
