The third edition of the Berto Zampapilas campaign, organised by the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, the Environment, Climate Change and Rural Development of Valencia, in collaboration with European Recycling Platform (ERP) and Ecopilas, has ended after collecting more than 18,000 kilos of batteries by pupils and 92 participating primary schools.
Despite the added difficulties of the health crisis, almost 19,000 pupils got involved in the selective collection of this type of waste to make sure batteries do not end up in the wrong containers. In the three editions of the campaign completed to date, almost 67,800 kilos of portable batteries and 89,890 pupils from 342 primary schools in the region have participated.
