Wishing you a Merry Green Christmas
This festive season, let’s spread joy, not waste!
🎄 Christmas is a season of giving… and, unfortunately, a major time for waste. From the batteries in shiny new toys to outdated or broken lights and battery-powered festive decorations mistakenly ending up in the bin.
The EPA’s latest Waste Characterisation Report revealed 6,179 tonnes of e-waste hiding in domestic bins and another 1,115 tonnes sneaking into recycling bins.
This year, we are encouraging households to recycle their used batteries when buying new ones, recycle old and broken battery-powered decorations and lights—anything with a plug, cable, or battery—and keep the circular economy in motion.
After all, we might not have a white Christmas, but there's no reason we can't have a green one! ♻️✨
