Pakman Awards 2023, Ireland’s National Environmental Awards
Winners announced ….
Congratulations to all winners and nominees for the Pakman Awards 2023, Ireland’s National Environmental Awards.
@The Killarney Park & @The Ross was named the winner of the Overall Pakman Award. The grassroots community project was set up this year and has successfully eliminated over 70,000 coffee cups from circulation from Killarney town centre.
Martin Tobin, CEO, ERP Ireland presented the award for Business Recycling Champion, sponsored by ERP Ireland to Ian Hunter, Centre Director at Swords Pavillion for its commitment to minimising waste and diverting it from landfill. In 2022, Swords Pavilion diverted 100% of waste from landfill and increased its recycling rates by 26.5%, compared to 2019.
ERP Ireland would also like to congratulate @Lidl Ireland who were awarded the Gold Plastic Pledge Award; @refurbed nominated for the Battery and WEEE Recycling Champion category; @Dublin Airport also nominated for the Business Recycling Champion category and @ENVA Ireland nominated for the Waste Recycling and Recovery Facility category.
The 2023 Pakman Awards saw 300 representatives from leading businesses, organisations, individuals and community groups come together to recognise excellence in recycling and waste management, helping Ireland live in a circular economy.
