Celebrating 20 Years of the WEEE Directive

13th August 2025, marks the 20th anniversary of the WEEE Directive coming into force in Ireland—a pivotal moment in our circular economy journey.

WEEE contains a complex mix of materials which, if not disposed of correctly, could pose environmental or health risks.

Over the past two decades, ERP Ireland has collected more than 216,000 tonnes of WEEE, preventing harmful waste from entering landfill and enabling the recovery of rare and valuable resources for recycling and reuse.

Looking ahead, ERP remains steadfast in its commitment to driving lasting change by helping businesses and households across Ireland play their part in our transition to a circular economy.
