Circul8 – Empowering Local Authorities with new recycling platform
Local Authorities have a powerful new tool to optimise their WEEE and battery recycling programmes with the introduction of ERP UK’s Circul8 dashboard
Local Authorities have a powerful new tool to optimise their WEEE and battery recycling programmes.
ERP UK's Circul8 dashboard delivers unprecedented visibility and insight into recycling operations. It is designed to help waste managers monitor and improve their recycling programmes.
As a Producer Compliance Scheme , ERP UK works closely with Local Authorities across the UK to ensure the proper recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and batteries. This helps ensure Local Authorities are complying with the and battery regulations.
The Circul8 dashboard offers three main views to help Local Authorities efficiently manage their WEEE and battery recycling:
Weights by stream
This page provides an overview broken down by the current month, quarter and year for the specific WEEE and battery streams required by the Local Authority.
Order status
Local Authorities can track the status of their WEEE and battery collections. This enables waste managers to see which stage their orders are at, from validation to delivery to treatment, by ERP's recycling partners.
Year-on-year comparison
Circul8 enables users to compare WEEE and battery collection volumes year-on-year by both waste stream and order status. This report provides valuable insights so Local Authority waste managers can identify trends and monitor recycling performance over time.
In addition to the dashboards, the Circul8 platform includes a reports function, which enables users to generate customised WEEE and battery recycling reports for their Local Authority. Data can be filtered by specific date ranges back to 2023, type of waste (e.g. WEEE vs batteries) and individual waste stream.
There are four status updates that Local Authorities will see as each collection moves through the process, these are:
- Received: collection received at haulier
- Documented: all documentation has been added to the collection
- Reported: the final status, evidence reported and updated numbers are on Circul8
- Validated: order has been checked and validated as correct by ERP UK
Access to Circul8 is provided to ERP UK's Local Authority partners based on their contracted services, so each Authority can only view its own data. This ensures confidentiality while enabling a high degree of transparency into local recycling operations.
To get started with Circul8, Local Authority waste managers should contact their dedicated ERP UK Regional Account Manager. Our team will work with you to set up user logins for appropriate personnel and provide training on how to make the most of the dashboard's features.
Dedicated support for Local Authorities
The launch of Circul8 enhances the comprehensive suite of services ERP UK provides to Local Authorities. This includes the provision of containers, guides to ensure recycling is sorted appropriately and dedicated training which helps ensure the risk of WEEE-related fires are reduced due to proper disposal methods being used. We schedule regular collections to keep recycling sites operating within permitted storage limits, with all services delivered through our carefully selected local partners.
ERP UK's Regional Account Managers work closely with Local Authorities and household waste recycling centres to ensure smooth operations. The Circul8 system will further support this collaboration by providing immediate access to actionable data.
Continuous improvement and innovation
Leonard van Eeden, ERP UK’s Order Fulfilment Manager, said: "The development of Circul8 for Local Authorities reflects ERP UK's commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in our service delivery.
"Through advanced data analytics and visualisation tools, we have created a platform that empowers Local Authorities to make data-driven decisions and to optimise their recycling strategies. By increasing visibility into local WEEE and battery recycling, we aim to boost collection rates while reducing waste crime and the risk of WEEE-related fires through the promotion of proper waste disposal.”
With Circul8, waste managers no longer need to spend hours manually compiling reports or sifting through spreadsheets. The intuitive dashboard interface puts all the key metrics at your fingertips, allowing you to quickly spot trends, identify areas for improvement and track progress towards your recycling targets.
In addition to streamlining reporting and analysis, Circul8 promotes greater collaboration between ERP UK and our Local Authority partners. By providing a shared platform for monitoring recycling performance, we can work together more effectively to address challenges, share best practice and celebrate success.
We plan to continue enhancing Circul8 with new features and functionalities based on feedback from our Local Authority users. Our goal is to create a comprehensive recycling management solution that adapts to the evolving needs of the UK's local government sector, supporting the transition towards a truly circular economy.
